Missions

Welfare is a church that believes in bringing as many souls to Christ as possible. In fact, our goal is to lead unbelievers and equip believers to an everlasting commitment to Jesus Christ. To achieve that goal we sponsor community work and missions not only here in Belton and Anderson, but also in different places around the world such as Haiti and Africa.

We as a church were fortunate enough to raise enough funds to sponsor our pastor on a mission trip to Kenya. While in Africa, pastor Neely was able to teach people how to run an effective church from the administrative side. I say the administrative side because he says those people know and praise the Lord like no other people on earth. What they do not have in the way of the American standard of living they more than make up for it in the worship of our God, our Jesus, and our Holy Ghost.

As you can see in the pictures, Rev. Neely was fortunate enough to make many friends while he was in Kenya. One in particular was Carmen Robinson. Carmen is a full time missionary in Africa. She has given us the opportunity to help the people of Kenya through her ministry to those who are less fortunate that us Americans. She came to our Church last year to share stories of gratitude that the people of Africa expressed for our helping them out in their time of need. They face war, food shortages, lack of adequate medical care and other situations that we as Americans can’t even bring ourselves to bear.

We want to thank Carmen for all of her good works and all of her good deeds. If the spirit moves you to help the people of Kenya you can contact Carmen by e-mail: Carmen_wairimu@yahoo.com. If you want help in your daily prayer life Carmen was kind enough to give us a prayer calendar for us to use in our daily spiritual journey.
